This is my first validated markup and stylesheet! I’m so proud! I know it doesn’t look like much but I wanted a test of skill so I made this site in 7 hrs, on my breaks at work, using only notepad and MS Paint! MS Paint is why the colors are off slightly. (no hex codes in Paint, should have used rbg) Also, this page doesn’t use the standard ‘<ul>’ navigation markup.

I’m rather excited about this! I have all these new personal project ideas now! My next projects should be more feature rich and aesthetically appealing.

Stay tuned for more

This is a web comic I used to create and maintain. It was a few years back that I started. I guess I felt like I really did have much else to post. The comics themselves didn’t amuse me as much as they used to. I still think quite a few are funny, just not as entertaining as I once saw them.

The site itself is based out of Wordpress using a theme called Comicpress. I themed it myself in CSS and flash and did 100% of the work on it. The comics, as they grew more elaborate and detailed, took between 2-5 hours depending on my free time and the art work required. At one point though it stopped being a work of passion and I couldn’t justify the time spent on it. Someday I hope to be drawing comics again but the subject matter is, as of yet, undetermined.

This is a social network I’ve designed and manage. It’s running on a purchased script, however, the theme was coded and designed by yours truly. Non-validating at this point. I work on it in my free time, and once I get it looking that way I want it I’ll be going through and fixing the validation errors. You see, I started this site before I even knew what the W3C was.

The footer bar is fixed and scrolls with the page quite smoothly. Eventually I would like to consolidate all the share icons into one that, when clicked, a modal window comes up with each networks icon. I took quite a bit of hunting to find an IE fix for it. I’m sure I’ll spend the rest of my career looking for IE fixes. Ugh!

Also, I would like to convert all the images into one sprite sheet. I think it should help considerable for the load and run time of the site. It seems a bit choppy depending on the net connection and PC of the user. (That’s right Mac Fans…I said PC)

Here’s a logo I made for a youth league team from Gilbert AZ.  The site is still in the works, but I also got word that they changed their team name and logo. UGH! The life of a designer.

This is a painting? I made using some cherry cobbler residue from a company potluck! It took about 5-7 minutes. He still smells of a delicate cobbler!

I think this is definitely my favorite work ever. Maybe because it was delicious, maybe because I was full of yummy cherry cobbler. Hey, I will most likely die never knowing why I like this so much more than anything else I’ve done!

More to come so keep an eye open. I should be posting some web work and logos soon.
